IWJF held in cooperation with the Directorate of Youth and Sports Diyala and Provincial Council on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, a seminar on enhancing women’s participation in conflict resolution and achieving community peace, The seminar reviewed the purpose of its contract and the means to achieve the goal.

The head of IWJF Dr. Nibras Al- Mamory reviewed the activities of the project, the roles, the target areas and the mechanism of cooperation between the Forum and the local government in Diyala province. She also explained the challenges that women are facing in general, and in Diyala in particular, especially with regard to UN Security Council Resolution 1325, and how to find effective solutions on battered women.
Head of the Women’s Committee in the Diyala Governorate Council, Samira Al-Zubaidi pointed to the problems experienced by women in Diyala, especially what resulted from the terror of the military remnants of war reflected negatively on the economic, social and security.
The member of Diyala Council Khader Muslim welcomed the Iraqi Media Forum, stressing that there are significant shortcomings in the work of women’s group and there must be joint coordination between the Forum and this group to adopt projects and joint activities.
