The Iraqi Women Journalists Forum organized, on Wednesday, 18 December, and over a period of three days, a training workshop on developing innovative techniques for training on media literacy, with the participation of more than 30 activists and civil society activists.
The workshop included lectures by the trainer Al-Qaisi’s election on the ethics and principles of journalistic and media work, the role of journalists in protecting human rights and the concept of media literacy, in addition to effective communication skills and the most important social media tools and how to invest in mobile journalistic technology, in addition to how to distinguish between a journalist and activist journalist and verification tools of them.
The workshop also included practical training on how to invest social media sites in organizing advocacy campaigns, and a mechanism to use the preservation of information and files and networking with other media bodies for the purpose of mobilizing public opinion. It is mentioned that the workshop organized by the Iraqi Women Journalists Forum is part of the Women Journalists Protection and Safety Project in cooperation with the Canadian Alternatives Organization and with the assistance of the European Union.
