Freedom for blogger and civic activist Shuja’a Al – Khafaji

The Iraqi Women Journalists Forum denounce today Thursday the breaking into the house of blogger and human rights activist Shuja’a Al-Khafaji and arresting him by unknown armed forces.

According to the testimony of close-ups of Khafji for the Iraqi Women Journalists Forum that gunmen stormed the house of Khafaji by dawn on Thursday and forcibly confiscated all the phones and computers of the family and seized the recordings of home surveillance cameras and taken Khafaji at gunpoint and transferred to an unknown destination.

Iraqi Women Journalists Forum calls for the immediate release of  Shuja Al-Khafaji and take legal measures guaranteeing the freedom of the media and the safety of journalists and bloggers, which is a fundamental pillar of the democratic system.
