Sawtoha network for human rights women defenders has participated in the extended meeting that has been conducted by Heartland and Asodeh organizations in Suleimaneya on Sunday, August 5th, to discuss mechanisms for organizing and defining Women’s networks and alliances in Iraq
The meeting was opened with welcoming speeches from the organizers and stating the purpose of the meeting. Those organizers are the

The participants discussed their experiences, the difficulties they face, the effectiveness of the legal framework of the network, the role of the department of governmental organizations in monitoring and evaluation, in addition to the issues adopted by the networks and alliances according to their respective competencies
The activity ended with conducting four working groups. Each of which identified the strategy to be adopted in the work of the networks and the role of international organizations in supporting their activities, in addition to the need for creating a comprehensive framework that encompasses all groups and unifying the work for the aim of serving women’s issues and human rights
Dr. Nibras Al-Mamouri, President of the Iraqi Women Journalists Forum (IWJF), represented “Sawtoha” network at the meeting, in addition to the active participation of Resolution 1325 coalition, the Arab Union for Specialized Women, the Civil Platform and other feminist networks
