Iraqi Women Journalists Forum condemns the assassination of a journalist and his family in Sulaymaniyah.

The Iraqi Women Journalists Forum on Wednesday (October 16th) condemns the assassination of journalist Amang Babani, his wife and their son when they were near a market in Sulaimaniya, where unknown gunmen shot them in public.

Journalist Amanj Babani was a presenter of the Kurdish channel NRT, and has not yet known the reasons behind this heinous crime and who is behind it.

the Iraqi Women Journalists Forum calls on the responsible authorities in the Kurdistan region to uncover the circumstances of the crime and the party behind it, and bring the perpetrators to justice.

and it calls also to put an end to the cases of direct targeting of women journalists and journalists, which rose notably because of the continued impunity of the perpetrators.
