Within the Women’s Fund for Peace and Humanitarian Action project, Sawtuha Network in Baghdad, in cooperation with the United Nations Women in Iraq, held three focus groups for the period 29 February to 7 March 2020, the number of participants ranged from 20 to total the three groups 60 women from different segments of society.
The meetings diagnosed the weak involvement of women in the formulation of public policies and the deterioration of the health level, especially what society suffers from diseases due to the slums and wars that produced a large segment of people with disabilities, In addition to poor job opportunities, and some of them do not have a home or a welfare salary to meet their livelihoods, women with diplomas complained of the high rate of discrimination on the basis of gender and trying to create obstacles to their creators in addition to the challenges they face during the elections and not granting them entitlement Elective, whether you nominated independently or within the quota.
The three women’s focus groups have concluded a set of recommendations and policies to be adopted by the relevant official agencies, which will be published through an expanded report.
